About Me

Few problems can’t be solved with a pretty girl and a nice cigar.

I was licensed in March 2014 as KDØZII, and after upgrading to Extra Class in 2015, I obtained my current call, WZØW.

I operate a Yaesu FT-450D on 100 watts to a home made fan dipole antenna (40m, 20m, 15m, 10m, 6m). I operate primarily on SSB and digital, but am honing my CW skills.

I have started using a Raspberry Pi 2 Raspberry Pi 3 as my shack computer, with fldigi and CQRLog as my digital and logging applications, respectively.

I’ve also recently added an LD-5 QRP transceiver from LNR Precision, which I really like.

I am the current president of the St. Charles Amateur Radio Club. If you’re in the St. Louis/St. Charles, MO area, stop by and say hello sometime — we meet the fourth Monday of every month.
